#7 Red Squirrel

It’s so nice being surrounded by red squirrels here in the Luberon. When I lived in Wales there were growing numbers repopulating the Wye Valley, but they were rarely seen. Here in the National Park, signs and sightings of squirrels are everywhere along with all the other wildlife; Boar, Eagles, Vultures, Deer…
This wee chap didn’t sit for me. I came across his photo and in a fit of cabin fever, broke away from the studio still life and attacked this image instead. Just a little something to break the monotony.

As a little side note, here's a little message I was rather touched by from one of my pupils at the local school. After a rather difficult term teaching them, it was nice to know that at least some of the kids took something positive away.

It reads: 'Thank you for being our drawing teacher' the title 'Cute Rabbit' by Iliana of CM2.
